UK-based Abbey National Asset Managers has appointed Melanie Mitchell to join its corporate bond team.

Mitchell joins from Chase Manhattan where she headed the European high-grade credit strategy team since July 1999 until the merger with JP Morgan. It is understood that Mitchell was not part of the new integrated JP Morgan investment operation.
