Guy Hands: ‘I can’t raise money to invest in the UK’

Guy Hands is disappointed. The private equity veteran was forced to cancel a $3bn fund this year because of Brexit.

“Since the vote, we have not been able to raise money outside of the UK to invest in the UK,” says the 59-year-old Terra Firma chairman. “Initially, it was just people delaying making a decision, but eventually they said no. We lost momentum and eventually had to cancel the fund raise.”
