New UniCredit chief executive, Andrea Orcel, used his first letter to its 82,000 staff to say the banking industry has become "complacent" about its position that the lender is likely to change with "some urgency".
The 57-year-old Italian, who has taken the reins of UniCredit on 16 April, told staff he wanted the bank to become a "disruptor in our field", promising to break down internal communication barriers and reduce "complexity".
