Apax and TPG close in on TIM's Greek arm

Telecom Italia Mobile, Italy's largest mobile phone operator, is close to selling TIM Hellas Telecommunications, its Greek mobile phone arm, to a consortium of Apax Partners and Texas Pacific Group, the buy-out firms, for up to €2bn ($2.7bn).

The buy-out firms plan to buy an 80% stake which they will split equally, according to a report on Bloomberg, citing unnamed people familiar with the deal.
