Almost 50% of asset managers in Europe will upgrade or renew their software or technical infrastructure in the next two years, according to a survey by research centre Edhec.

Asset managers are most concerned about their risk management capabilities, which they say are under-developed. Only 51% of the survey's respondents are monitoring the extreme risks of their portfolios. Around 60% of them will improve compliance technology and 46% will focus on measuring extreme risks.
