Private equity giant Bain Capital is mulling a bid for Costa Coffee, according to people familiar with the situation.

Bain, which is also invested in the parent company of Gail’s bakery chain, is among a raft of buyout shops weighing up a deal for the high street coffee business that has been put up for sale by Coca-Cola.
