Barclays Capital, which last week acquired a stake in a US-based private equity firm investing in the energy industry, has hired five people to its energy investment banking business.

Santino Basile joins as a managing director from WestLB along with John Eleoterio and Juan Kreutz who join as associate directors from the German bank.
