BGI snares £31bn of transition business in 2000

Barclays Global Investors (BGI), one of the UK's largest passive investment managers, has hired Martin Bednall as a transition manager in London, from State Street Bank & Trust.

Reporting to Paul Samuel, head of transition services, Bednall will be responsible for managing new business and third-party transitions. He will also be involved with developing the BGI transition product, including analytics, marketing and reporting.
