Binance boss Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao hits back at ‘Chinese company’ label and reveals why he left the mainland

Binance’s chief executive, Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao, has unleashed a broadside against his “opposition in the West” who label him and the cryptocurrency exchange as Chinese.

In a 1 September blog post, CZ wrote that the company has no legal entities in China, nor does it intend to in future. Despite this, he said, “both the media and… policymakers” have recently engaged in a “noticeable increase in attacks on our company’s reputation”.
