BlackRock quant outflows continue

The world's largest money manager has turned around performance of its quantitative equity business, but outflows persist

BlackRock’s troubled quantitative equity arm, gained in the merger with Barclays Global Investors, has continued to see assets under management decline, despite achieving positive performance.

BlackRock Quantitative Equity had $95bn under management in 2010, down from $140bn at the end of 2009. During the fourth quarter, the business suffered $12.5bn in outflows.
