BNP Paribas promotes Maillard to chief operating officer

The French lender has looked to a long-serving banker to take over the role after the exit of Laurent David

BNP Paribas has installed a 33-year bank veteran as its new chief operating officer following the exit of his predecessor.

Philippe Maillard, who was previously COO of the French lender’s corporate and institutional banking unit, has been elevated to group chief operating officer, the bank said in a statement.
