Bob Diamond, the former Barclays chief executive who left the bank in the wake of the Libor scandal last summer, has held talks over investment in a new London trading platform, Financial News has learnt.

Diamond is one of several high-net-worth individuals to have held talks about investing in Aquis Exchange, a pan-European equities trading platform set to launch later this year, according to three people familiar with the situation.
