Cheyne Capital’s chief investment officer is retiring from the role after seven years at the $7 billion alternatives manager to focus on managing his personal wealth, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Chris Goekjian joined the London-based alternatives manager in April 2009 as a partner and its investment chief, and the person said his role was to supervise investment and risk management but not take investment decisions.
