Citigroup has promoted a financial institutions specialist to help run its investment banking business in France, where the US bank has been making up ground on rivals this year.

Emmanuel Regniez, who is responsible for covering the asset management sector for Citi in France, has been named co-head of investment banking in the country alongside Nicolas Desombre.
