Merrill Lynch has poached the entire Schroder Salomon Smith Barney oil research team, forcing the Citigroup operation to suspend coverage of oil stocks.
The team of seven, which includes Mark Iannotti and Alastair Syme, resigned on Monday according to a Citigroup spokesperson. "We have had to suspend our coverage of oil stocks," he added.
