City of London executives are coming to terms with an uncomfortable reality: the Brexit transition deal they spent months lobbying for may not be worth their considerable efforts. 

Last week, European Union and UK negotiators agreed on the outline terms of a 21-month transition period that will begin once the UK officially exits the bloc in March 2019 and last until the end of 2020.
