The local authority for the City of London and the Lord Mayor have pledged to keep London’s financial district running as companies in the Square Mile grapple with the coronavirus outbreak.
Lord Mayor William Russell and the City of London Corporation’s policy chair, Catherine McGuinness, called on businesses and residents of the Square Mile to work together to tackle the spread of Covid-19. The two said in a statement that these are “unprecedented times and there will be anxiety across the City”.
