Whistleblowing in the City, once a high-profile activity during the financial crisis, is losing its somewhat limited appeal.
The latest figures show that the number of cases is down by almost 40% over two years. In 2014 the Financial Conduct Authority received 1,367 cases. In 2016 there were 866. Those the authorities deem of “significant value” have also fallen, to 108 in 2016.
