Clearstream in Canada collateral deal

The deal would see the Canadian depository license Clearstream's collateral management platform, which it would in turn use to help local banks make better use of their collateral

Clearstream, the post-trade services company owned by Deutsche Börse, is in discussions with Canada's settlement house to create a new collateral management platform for the Canadian market, as banks face up to a slew of collateral-intensive regulations due to come into effect during the next year.

Clearstream and CDS Clearing and Depository Services, Canada's major settlement provider, are in talks to create a new local collateral management service which would enable local Canadian market participants to satisfy growing demand for collateral in the most efficient way possible.
