CME Group, the US futures and stock market, is in talks to buy a stake in Malaysia's main exchange as consolidation in the sector intensifies and rivals seek to establish a foothold in Asia.

Bursa Malaysia, the country's main securities and derivatives exchange, said it has held preliminary talks with CME Group about future collaboration.
