Costs and outflows undermine recovery at UBS' wealth unit

UBS could see further outflows from its wealth management unit in 2009, despite positive inflows in January. Cost concerns around bonuses could also scupper recovery efforts at the Swiss bank’s wealth unit.

Analysts at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods in London are forecasting outflows of around SFr6bn in the first quarter from the bank's Swiss and international business.
