The US Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating three international banks over their roles in a $2bn bond sale for Mozambique, write Matt Wirz, Rebecca Davis O'Brien and Jenny Strasburg for The Wall Street Journal.
The FBI wants to know whether Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas and Russian bank VTB facilitated corruption by enabling Mozambican officials to take money raised in the debt sales, according to people familiar with the matter.
