Davies to stay on as chair of UK Financial Services Authority

Sir Howard Davies is to remain in his post as director and chairman of the UK's Financial Services Authority until January 31, 2004.

Gordon Brown, UK chancellor of the exchequer, said: &quotAt a time when the FSA has just taken on its full regulatory powers and is establishing itself as a fully independent single regulator it is invaluable to have Sir Howard remaining in the post with his breath of experience.&quot
