Diamond drafts in ex-First Boston chief as Americas chair

Barclays president Bob Diamond has recruited a former chief executive of Morgan Stanley International and First Boston Corp to chair its business in the Americas, where it is on a growth push in investment banking and investment management.

Barclays today said in a statement it has appointed Archibald Cox to the Americas role, effective in early May. Cox will replace Chet Feldberg, who is retiring after eight years chairing Barclays’ Americas business.
