Dubai regional exchange hires Lynton Jones as chairman

Lynton Jones, the former head of Jiway, the collapsed pan-European electronic stock exchange, has been appointed chairman of the Dubai Regional Financial Exchange.

The new Dubai regional exchange aims to create a global financial centre filling the time gap between London and Asia. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) federal cabinet approved plans for the new exchange earlier this month, which will be modeled on the London and New York stock exchanges.
