Dutch asset managers cancel plans for merger

Two of the Netherlands' biggest pension fund managers have scrapped a planned €143bn ($200bn) merger after more than a year of talks, suggesting that the recent wave of consolidation in the sector may be coming to an end.

Mn Services, which managed €65bn in September, and Syntrus Achmea, which had €78bn under management at the same date, had been in in discussions over a merger since November last year.
