Electronic trading volumes boost CME revenues

Trading volumes on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Globex electronic trading platform more than doubled last year, boosting the exchange's revenues 17%.

Net revenues at the exchange increased to a record $453.2m (€426m) compared with $387.2m the year before. Net income was $94.1m, up 25% from $75.1m in 2001. Diluted earnings per share were $3.13, up from $2.57 in 2001.
