Europe’s investment banks regain home advantage after US trade war chaos

European lenders have pulled market share back from US rivals as optimism on deal activity returns

European investment banks have grabbed market share from their Wall Street rivals on their home turf as protectionist US policies have renewed focus on the continent. 

The top European investment banks secured around 55% of the fee pool in their home market so far in 2025. That was their biggest share of revenue in the region for nearly a decade, according to data provider Dealogic.
