The Financial Conduct Authority has banned two former Credit Suisse bankers after they were convicted of taking millions in kickbacks for arranging corrupt loans for the Republic of Mozambique.

Andrew Pearse, who pleaded guilty to accepting more than $45m in bribes to arrange the loans, has been banned for the UK financial services industry for lacking integrity, the regulator said in a statement.
