Sir Derek Morris, who was previously chairman of the UK's Competition Commission, has taken up a new role as chairman of the Cheviot Trust, a small but innovative pension fund mainly serving the legal sector.
Morris, who held the role at the commission from 1998 to 2004, is also a former provost of Oriel College, Oxford, and led a government review into actuaries known as the Morris Review in 2005. He formally took over the Cheviot chairmanship on April 1, following the sudden death of previous chairman Robert Hall. The appointment was announced by the trust yesterday.
