Former KKR dealmaker Alex Navab dies on family holiday

Navab recently started his own buyout firm, which was planning to seek $3bn for its first fund

Alexander Navab, the former head of the Americas private-equity business at KKR who recently started his own buyout firm, died on Sunday while vacationing with his family.

Navab, 53, started Navab Capital Partners earlier this year with a group of veteran investors he brought in from other firms. The firm planned to raise $3bn for its first fund.
