FSA considers eight news services for company announcements

The UK's Financial Services Authority is considering eight companies to act as providers of company news after the Regulatory News Service, owned and operated by the London Stock Exchange, lost its monopoly on providing the information.

The RNS is now in the running with the other prospective so-called 'primary information provider' (PIP) services: Business Wire, Hugin Online, Newslink, PIMS, PR Line, PR Newswire and Waymaker.
