The Financial Services Authority, which today awarded its largest ever fine against a US bank, has lost a criminal case for insider dealing for the first time, after three men were acquitted of insider dealing.

The FSA said that Andrew King, a finance director, and Michael McFall, a lawyer, had been acquitted of eight counts of insider dealing in a case heard at the Southwark Crown Court.
