Veteran private equity investor John Bernstein is stepping down as joint head of General Atlantic’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a person familiar with the matter has told 

Bernstein, a former Advent International partner, will remain at General Atlantic after stepping down from the leadership role, the person added.
