Mining giant Glencore, one of the largest FTSE 100 companies, has shelved plans to move its primary stock listing to New York — a decision that will offer relief to the London Stock Exchange.

The Switzerland-headquartered firm had floated the idea of moving its listing to the US in February, with chief executive Gary Nagle saying at the time the company needed to ensure it was achieving the right valuation for its shares.
