Goldman advises on CGNU sale

Goldman Sachs is advising CGNU on the sale of its US general insurance operations, a deal that has attracted much attention due to the substantial loss the UK company will incur.

CGNU is selling the unit to Bermuda-based White Mountains Insurance Group. CGNU expects to make a post-tax loss of £1.38bn (€2.29bn).
