A reshuffle of top decision-makers at Goldman Sachs in the wake of bank's president Gary Cohn's departure has given a lift not only to investment banking boss David Solomon, but also his London-based co-head Richard Gnodde, who has been named a vice-chairman of the firm.

The Wall Street bank confirmed on December 14 that, as expected, it has named Solomon and Harvey Schwartz as presidents and co-chief operating offices, effective January 1.
