MPs question effectiveness of Banking Standards Board

Labour MP John Mann challenged the organisation over what it has done to 'change the culture' at UK banks

The influential Treasury Committee, chaired by Conservative MP Nicky Morgan, has questioned the effectiveness of an independent body set up to improve the culture in the UK banking industry.

On Tuesday the select committee cross-examined Dame Colette Bowe and Alison Cottrell, chair and chief executive of the Banking Standards Board, about the body's ability to undertake one of its essential remits: “dealing with miscreants” in the banking sector.
