Government's pension measures could sting

The Government is set to launch new measures to prevent people from retiring early and will offer incentives to prolong their working life.

This follows a report produced by Downing Street's Performance and Innovation Unit - a team drawn from inside and outside Whitehall - which shows that 2.8 million people aged between 50 and 65 do not work. This costs the Exchequer £16bn a year.
