The CMA has frozen hiring, not backfilled roles and scrapped a planned office launch as it races to meet budget cuts.

The antitrust watchdog has been managing down its workforce for months, Financial News can reveal, but failed to trim enough costs, forcing it to launch an additional voluntary exit scheme.
