HSBC has managed to sell its French retail banking business after the deal was previously blocked by regulators.

Regulatory capital concerns caused the deal to stall in June 2023, forcing HSBC to negotiate new terms. The lender had originally floated a deal in June 2021 for a one euro nominal price.
