HSBC has appointed a new head of its corporate and institutional banking division in Germany, where a number of its large rivals have made senior hires in recent months.

The UK bank said on Tuesday that Nicolo Salsano will join in October to fill the position left vacant since December, when Norbert Reis stepped down.
