The former head of HSBC's investment bank, Samir Assaf, is stepping down from the UK lender after nearly 30 years to join technology-focused investor General Atlantic as a senior adviser.
Assaf, one of the longest-serving executives at HSBC who stepped back from his role heading up its global banking and markets division in 2019, is set to take a senior role in General Atlantic's London operation, the firm said in a statement.
