Shortly after joining Citigroup as head of banking, Vis Raghavan addressed employees at an all‑hands meeting and encouraged dealmakers to be more aggressive in pursuing work. 

Raghavan had spent years at the helm of JPMorgan’s dominant investment bank and signed up to Citigroup tasked with improving returns, amid a radical overhaul that cut thousands of jobs and left many staff demoralised.
