Investment trade body takes on City’s ‘last taboo’: class

Trade body calls on fund managers to do their bit for social mobility

The Investment Association, the trade body representing the UK’s asset management industry, is calling on its member companies to end class bias in recruitment and foster a more diverse workforce.

The trade body has published a set of recommendations for fund managers to ensure they attract and nurture talent from across society. It suggests companies should monitor the class backgrounds of their staff and how they are paid, to identify any “class pay gaps”.
