Anyone doubting the credentials of RBC Capital Markets as a serious player in European corporate finance will have had to reassess their opinion yesterday.

A few months after announcing the build-out of a large European financial institutions group, RBC Capital Markets was named as one of three advisers to the London Stock Exchange on its £4bn merger of equals with Canadian counterpart Toronto Stock Exchange.
