Issuer size does not affect ratings, S&P claims

Standard & Poor's (S&P), the international rating agency, has quashed the idea that it takes the size of an issuer into account when making decisions about credit ratings in Europe.

S&P, which has put out a report to set the record straight, titled &quotIs size reflected in European credit ratings&quot said in the report: &quotThere is no minimum size criterion for any given rating level, as size alone does not constrain a company's rating.&quot
