JP Morgan has recruited a chief executive for Russia for the first time as it aims to build on its momentum in the country, where it made a string of high-profile hires and was the top adviser for announced mergers and takeovers last year.
The Wall Street bank said in a statement today it has hired Jeffrey Costello, who spent five years as chief executive of UBSâ Moscow-based investment banking joint venture Brunswick UBS before leaving in July 2004 and taking time out from the banking industry. UBS took full control of the joint venture later that year.
