Lehman Brothers has hired a prominent restructuring expert from law firm Shearman & Sterling to co-head its global restructuring group.

Mark Shapiro was recruited to run the team with Gilbert Sanborn, who heads it now. The two have worked on a number of restructuring deals together over the past 12 years.
