Lehman names head of investment management

Lehman Brothers has picked Perry Hoffmeister to run its investment management business in Europe and the Middle East in a move that hands sole control of the US bank’s European investment banking unit to Christian Meissner.

Hoffmeister has jointly led Lehman’s investment banking business in Europe and the Middle East since relocating from New York to London in 2004. He was co-head with Benoit D’Angelin until the latter’s departure to join a hedge fund in February 2006, and subsequently teamed up with Meissner to run investment banking.
